  Project Outline:

  The Bioinformatics Software development intern will support full-stack development of interactive web applications for applications including but not limited to sequence feature visualizations and annotation of biological data. The intern will be responsible for evaluating the requirements from the users, designing, and implementing a web application for dynamically visualizing sequence features. The intern will also conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure the quality and reliability of the application.

  Requirements / Qualifications:

  Strong understanding of software design patterns and principles.

  Undergraduate/MS/PhD students in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or related field with hands-on experience in full stack web development, with completion of a minimum of one year of university studies.

  Proficient with Python, React, Javascript/Typescript, HTML and CSS

  Proficient with MySQL

  Proficient developing in teams using Git/GitHub or other source code control systems

  Experience in RESTful programming, designing RESTful APIs, deploying web services, and configuring web servers (e.g., Apache, NGINX)

  Experience with Linux container engines and container orchestration systems (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) preferred.

  Experience with cloud computing a plus

  Currently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Takeda does not provide sponsorship for internship positions.

  Available to work full-time (40 hours per week), within the core business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm, for 10-12 weeks during the summer months.

  Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship with Takeda.

  Please note that Takeda does not provide intern housing or a housing stipend.

  The hourly pay rate range is $20.00 per hour - $46.00 per hour. The final pay rate offered for this internship may consider several factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
