Position SummaryWorking at the functional level, the BIM Coordinator reports to the GBU BIM Manager and is responsible for development of automation/tools to enable BIM execution across various projects.
ResponsibilitiesUnder supervision, coordinates with subject matter experts (SME’s) and functional mangers to create, review, and implement work processes and tools tailored to meet the needs of the GBU.
Ensures technical adequacy of work products in accordance with project requirements as well as the customer BIM and GIS requirements for the successful delivery and handover of the assets.
Responsible for using PowerBI to create Engineering & Construction reports & dashboards from BIM/GIS platforms.
Demonstrate ownership of assigned actions to self and shows initiative in problem solving.
Maximize the use of project BIM and GIS environments to streamline Design & Construction Workflows
Establish processes and methodologies for using BIM models for visualization, animation, and work-planning.
Supports digital delivery responsibilities and providing project tools training and support as required.
Coordinate closely with project Digital Delivery leads, GIS & BIM Managers in planning and executing work as an integrated team.
Provides technical support, interfaces directly with central Automation group and provides solutions to reported problems and to situations presented.
Explore modern technology to execute project work and provide integrated solutions to customers more efficiently.
Apply expertise as an Automation specialist and has a working knowledge of interrelationship of products.
Supports functional initiatives of developing Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), Bechtel Design Guides, appropriate Bechtel Standard Computer Applications (BSAPs) and administrative practices.
Develop and deploy data exchanges between various EPC tools.
Qualifications and SkillsBasic Qualifications:
BS degree in Engineering, Architectural, Construction, Computer Science, or Information Management, from an accredited university, with 7+ years of relevant experience.Minimum Qualifications:4+ years of experience in digital delivery/VDC & information management
Experience with creating 3D and 2D models using Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Civil3D
Experience in creating High quality visualizations/ AR/VR models for client presentation, value engineering and optioneering.
Knowledge of ESRI, Autodesk and Bentley Platforms including features, functions, and limitations,
Knowledge of GIS, Oracle/SQL, and other relational databases
Experience in programming (C# or python)
Experience with model federation and aggregating from different authoring platforms (RVT, DWG, FBX, IFC, etc.) into Navisworks/ Infraworks for visualizing, reviewing, BOQ and reporting.
Strong technical writing skills (writing technical instructions, procedures, etc.)
Experience with using PowerApps and Power BI
Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of GIS, Sketchup, Rhino, and 3DS Max tools
Experience in GeoBIM for integrating BIM models into GIS maps
Experience with BIM Interoperability tools for model data compliance checking
Experience with using Dynamo & Forge
Experience with FME or Workato or other workflow automation tool
