Position: Shipping Supervisor

The primary objective of a Shipping Supervisor is to provide leadership and guidance to all Shipping Leads, Coordinators, and Associates. He or she will ensure every order gets shipped on time and without errors. The shipping Supervisor will monitor and oversee outgoing shipping activities to verify if the employees are performing their job duties and are processing orders within the time frame promised to the customer.

Supervisors are responsible for monitoring the day-to-day operations to ensure orders are fulfilled correctly in a timely manner, direct, and constantly monitors the flow/progress of packages from preparation to shipment.
Works in line with the Manager to Maintain appropriate staffing level and daily Shipping team’s schedule to ensure appropriate shift coverage.
Ensure productivity targets are achieved and that all processes and activities run smoothly and promptly. Revisits the metrics on a quarterly basis to ensure the processing time is always met.
Generates KPI’s and disseminates hourly, daily end of day, weekly, or monthly production reports.
Motivates Shipping Leads/Coordinators/Associates and encourages teamwork, pride, and accountability to ensure productivity targets are met with a high level of accuracy.
The Shipping Supervisor reads all shipping notices, emails, orders, invoices, and other documents to manage priorities and ensure that the correct shipping methods are used. They also make sure shipping records are accurately stored in the database.
Shipping Supervisor oversees and supervises warehouse shipping employees and in-house drivers to make sure all items are prepared, shipped on time while complying with company policy. They act as a liaison between Associates and Management and report on shipping activities and issues.
Providing guidance and on-going training to all Shipping Associates and Coordinators; identifies and discusses mistakes with associate to provide opportunity for associates’ continuous improvement.
Resolving any Shipping fulfillment issues or customer complaints. Holds daily meetings with associates prior to shift start.
Safety and cleanliness are an essential part of a shipping operation, and it’s the shipping supervisor’s responsibility to be aware of and enforce safety regulations.
Consult with various departments in warehouse and compile weekly supply order.
Organizes training for associates/admins and leads and ensures team is up to date with all the procedures set forth in the department.
Consults with the Manager to suggest better ways to improve production and employee issues daily.
Responsible for always providing coverage for their shift.
Helps the Manager with 90 day and Annual reviews.
Works with other departments to expedite orders as per the request submitted.
Works with Admins every day to expedite order fulfillment.
Responsible to know all the processes and procedures of shipping department.
Resolves issues with orders by working with Upper Management, Customer Service, and other departments.
Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility
This person will have supervisory responsibilities for all Shipping Leads, Coordinators and Associates. He or she is also responsible for the performance management of the employees within the department.
Work Environment
This job operates in a warehouse environment where the noise level can be loud. The employee is frequently exposed to fast-moving carts and bins throughout the warehouse. Frequent use of ladders, pallets, and forklifts are also expected.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing ladders. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. Days and hours to be specified.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
A minimum of HS Diploma or GED and one year of factory- or warehouse-related experience in Shipping. Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions, and use simple math. Intermediate computer skills and Microsoft Office experience are required. Must be able to use warehouse equipment such ladders, cutting tools, pallet jack, etc.
Preferred Education and Experience
Associate degree. A minimum of one year of supervisory experience. Experience with inventory management systems and ecommerce platforms.
Work Authorization
Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
