Role Overview and Purpose:

We are a fast-paced Insurance Managing General Agency that provides innovative underwriting solutions for our network of brokers across Canada. Our success is based on our leadership, integrity, innovation, and service.

Our national People Culture team, which serves approx. 500 in-office, hybrid, and remote employees across Canada is seeking a Bilingua l (English/French) People Culture Associate . This role suits an experienced HR Advisor looking to take their career to the next level. As a true generalist, the People Culture Associate is responsible for the administration and coordination of a range of human resources functions. Reporting to the Director of People Culture, the Associate will join our lean team helping with day-to-day people practices, including Recruiting, Onboarding, Performance Management, and People Development. In addition to the regular People Culture operations, this role will take on new and exciting projects that both fill a business need and play to their natural strengths. This is a hybrid position with strong preference for someone in the Greater Toronto Area.

Action Items:

Serve as the People Culture point of communication and contact for our French-speaking employees

Translate HR communications and resources from English to French

Maintain compliance with Quebec employer requirements

Mentor and assist the Talent Acquisition Coordinator with implementing our Talent strategy

Drive a culture of engagement that aligns with our Corporate Values and Employer Brand strategy

Build trusting and supportive relationships with employees and leaders

Coordinate and collaborate with the Administrator for policy and process improvements

Identify legal requirements and company standards, and ensure compliance in our practices

Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR process and procedure

Host drop-in sessions for employees on a variety of HR-related topics

Support and coach leaders as employee issues arise

Facilitate Lunch and Learn sessions for leadership training and development

Coach and collaborate with managers on talent development and succession plans

Partner with leaders to provide direction and implementation of regional and corporate HR programs and services

Support Health and Wellbeing programs

Leverage technology to design engaging and interactive learning content

Create content for our internal Teams channels

Assist in building and implementing new HR programs as needs arise

Analyze trends and metrics to offer solutions and programs

Other People Culture Team support as needed

Qualifications and Experience:

3-5 years of progressive HR experience

Fluent in English and French

Completion of a post-secondary HR diploma or degree preferred

Previous experience in Insurance or other professionally regulated industry is preferred

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships

Advanced technology/computer skills

Confidence in procedural decisions and judgements

Strong organizational skills to work efficiently and meet deadlines

Growth mindset

Problem solving with logic, reasoning, and collaboration

Personal accountability and self-management to work independently
