  Cenikor Foundation is a non-profit organization and one of the largest substance abuse treatment centers in the nation. We are currently seeking a Behavioral Health Technician located in our Deer Park, Texas location.

  The Job Summary and Description – What’s expected of you?:

  JOB SUMMARY:

  Do you have a desire to serve others and your community? Are you seeking purposeful work with a mission-driven organization? If so, our Behavioral Health Technician position may be right for you! 

  The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is responsible for the protection, safeguarding, and securing of assets, personnel and clients at the facility. The BHT is responsible for providing therapeutic assistance and preventing client elopement as well as instituting appropriate security measures while escorting clients inside and outside the facility.

  SCHEDULE: AS NEEDED

  QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

  Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  Knowledge of security operations and safety practices.

  Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with staff and residents.

  Ability to understand and follow standard operating procedures, to perform duties in a professional manner, to write and investigate required reports; to make independent and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures;

  Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.

  Ability to work night shifts and/or flexible hours.

  Ability to consistently uphold the Core Principles of Cenikor’s Culture:

  Role model appropriate, professional behaviors including appropriate client boundaries

  Education:

  High School Diploma or GED requiredExperience:

  One-year security/safety experience preferredPhysical Requirements

  Sit in normal position for extended periods of time

  Ability to walk and/or run while patrolling property,

  Ability to climb and descend stairs

  Ability to see within normal parameters

  Ability to hear within normal range

  Ability to drive fifteen passenger vans

  Ability to carry approximately ten pounds

  Ability to reach and extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.

  Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard.

  Ability to travel to facilities by various transportation means.

  LICENSURE REQUIRED:

  Valid Driver’s License
