In this role, you will:
Provide relevant Substance Abuse information for class curriculum.Facilitate didactic educational presentations, group counseling, andindividual counseling sessions.Select and recommend new instructional materials and programs foruse in the substance abuse program.Maintain knowledge of new developments in the field of substanceabuseMaintain a collegian relationship with other substance abuse.professionals, programs, and associations.Complete required testing, assessment, and psychosocial history onincoming residents as required.Participate in related training for substance abuse.Review minimum requirements before applying:
Minimum Requirements
Associates Degree in criminal justice, sociology, substance abuse,or equivalent certification required. Bachelor\'s degree preferred.Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a correctionalsetting preferred.Possess or develop a thorough understanding of the Principles ofEffective Intervention that empirical evidence demonstrates reducesrecidivismMust possess the ability to work with a team of professionals andhave the ability to implement team strategy approaches to workassignments.Must be flexible, cooperative and empathetic to needs of staff andinmates.Ability to prepare written reports; to communicate effectively, bothorally and in writing; and to learn rules, regulations, and securityprocedures required by the facility.Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typicallyused by the department.
