A Behavioral Consultant (BC) is available to travel to the school or community. Each Mobile Therapist maintains a schedule of Children to be seen and address as emergency situations as requested. The school district will continue to utilize the county MH/MR Program's identified system for emergency services for those situations which are clearly within the realm of necessity, and the Mobile Therapist will not be used to supplant the necessary crisis services. The Mobile Therapist will assist the school in identifying when these situations are present, should the school request such assistance.

Utilizing the above approach, the Behavioral Specialist Program will be emphasizing the individual child/adolescent's positive behaviors and strengths by developing behavioral plans that will enable them to be maintained in the regular classroom with peers and will be providing necessary treatment as well as providing support and consultation to the family unit and other BHRS staff included in the plan.

Behavioral Specialist services will also be provided to adolescents at the high school level on an individual basis and at the request of the school (with school permission), parents, or at the request of a referring outside agency. The school's social worker, psychologist or guidance counselor through their identified internal system of referral will identify students.
