The Electrified Systems Engineering (ESE) organization is responsible for delivering the best fuel economy and refined Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid and Battery Electric vehicles in every segment in which we compete. We strive to consistently provide the best customer vehicle value and profitability while delivering performance, durability, and fuel economy/range objectives. What you'll do…
Your duties will include:
Evaluate HV battery performance and life for both current model and new programs.
Utilize each of lab pack test data, prototype vehicle data, and connected vehicle data to analyze battery performance and battery controls functions.
Develop pack and vehicle data analysis tools and scripts for use by cell integration engineers.
Develop and maintain cell calibration design guides and define the overall cell calibration development process.
Develop both physical and analytical validation methods for the battery control functions that the cell calibrations support.
Develop core cell integration engineering documents (design guides, test methods).
Progress to SME level expertise in one or more of these functions: battery state-of charge (SOC) estimation, battery state-of-health (SOH) estimation, power and current limits, usable battery energy and energy available estimation, battery charging (AC and DCFC) control limits, and battery protection strategies.
Utilize data to analyze control function performance together with battery cell performance.
Work closely and lead cross functional projects with cell integration, cell modeling, vehicle controls, vehicle calibration, electrification systems, big data, and BECM controls teams.
You'll have...
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Controls, Computer or Software Engineering, Computer Science, Chemical, or Data Science
1 year+ direct experience with analyzing/evaluating designs and data.
Experience in electrified powertrains
Even better, you may have...
Fluency with data analysis software (Matlab, Excel, INCA, ATI, AVL Concerto) and statistical analysis.
Familiarity with powertrain controls, battery controls, change control tools (JIRA).
Proficient with various scripting languages (Matlab).
Excellent communication and time leadership skills. Ability to work within a fast paced, team environment
