Job Title: Bates Labeling Paralegal

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Bates Labeling Paralegal who will primarily be responsible for preparing, managing, and distributing legal documents for the company. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in the Bates numbering system utilized in the legal industry for identifying and labeling legal documents.

Responsibilities:

Assigning unique Bates numbers to each page of each legal document in order to ensure that they can be identified, organized, and retrieved efficiently.

Being adept with electronic Bates labeling software, effectively inputting, tracking, and managing a large volume of legal documents.

Coordinating with lawyers, paralegals and legal secretaries to prepare documents for discovery, court filings, client meetings, trials, etc.

Handling legal document production processes including scanning, indexing, OCRing documents, and making them text-searchable.

Ensuring all documents are accurately labelled, securely maintained and properly archived.

Addressing a range of document related queries from other staff members and clients.

Collaborating with team to improve the firm’s document management system and practices.

Requirements - Comprehensive knowledge of bate stamps

Strong know-how of spreadsheets and word processing is desired

Customer service oriented communication skills that allow for pleasant and beneficial interactions with all customers

Confidence in taking ownership of projects, writing and negotiating, planning and organizing

Creative problem solver who anticipates risks and opportunities and maintains a vision for continuous improvement

Constant attention to detail and accuracy, confidentiality
