  JOB REQUIREMENTS: The City of Onalaska is seeking to hire Bartenders.Scheduled hours vary for each event, but may include: mornings,afternoons, evenings and weekends. An employee in this position isresponsible for a variety of tasks related to bartending operations.Work is reviewed by the Omni Center Manager for accuracy and adherenceto established procedures. Essential Job Functions: Greet customers in afriendly and timely manner and take drink orders from customers. Processthe order on cash register and return correct change; follow City cashhandling policies and procedures. Balance cash drawer each shift or asdirected following established cash handling policies. Mix ingredients,such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, bitters, to prepare cocktails andother drinks. Inform manager of bartending supply levels after eachshift; may assist in ordering liquor and other bartending supplies.Clean glasses, utensils, tables, bar equipment, and general work area.Contain overuse of alcohol by customers by cutting off alcohol supply;may be required to quiet a loud or obnoxious customer or require them toleave the premises. Contribute to a cooperative working effort bydemonstrating a willingness to perform other job-related work as neededor requested. Assistance is given to others and special projects to becompleted as scheduled or requested. Other duties as assigned orrequired. Training, Experience & Other Requirements: Read, understand,and effectively carry out written and oral instructions, measurements,directions and work orders. Use equipment safely and act in a safemanner when in the work environment. Knowledge of health and foodservice regulations; knowledge of government alcohol and beverageservice regulations. Handle cash transactions, count money and dispersecorrect change. Provide a high level of customer service; ability torecognize customer intoxication. Report to work at the scheduled times.Maintain a professional demeanor and establish effective workingrelationships with associates, volunteers, staff and public. PhysicalRequirements: The work environment characteristics described herein arerepresentative of those an employee encounters while performing theessential functions of this job. Standing/walking up to eight (8) hoursper day and frequent bending and stooping. Ability to lift variousweights up to fifty (50) pounds. Ability to perform overhead work. JobRequirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be 18 years old.Compensation: Wage range for this seasonal, limited-term position is\$8.00 to \$11.00 per hour depending on qualifications. Flexiblescheduling available. There are no benefits associated with limited-termpositions.
