About Banker - Grand Rapids

  The Banker is responsible for business development and growth of a client base within the Banking program.   Service Banking client needs by providing sensible financial advice, by opening Banking accounts, and by introducing business unit partners as needed (commercial lending, mortgage lending, retail banking, wealth management and investments, etc.).  The Banker will communicate in a professional, approachable, and friendly manner with clients, prospects, and team members.

   

  Principal Accountabilities 

  Develop and grow Banking client relationships; deliver financial services to PB clients; originate and close a variety of consumer loans and lines of credit; make referrals to other business units through cross-selling efforts; provide consultative selling and exceptional service; and build a referral network for future prospective PB clients to meet or exceed established goals and performance objectives.

  Represent the Bank to both internal and external customers in a courteous, professional manner in face-to-face, written and telephone communications. Accountable for adherence to all regulatory and compliance standards including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).  Actively protect confidentiality of customer and account information. Demonstrate Horizon Bank's commitment to the communities in which we serve through active involvement in local organizations and events.

   

  Duties 

  Sales and Service

  Develop and grow new Banking relationships and build a referral network.Originate consumer loans to approved Banking customers.Make appropriate referrals to Horizon Bank business partners.Field customer inquiries and complaints. De-escalate difficult situations through active listening and problem solving while maintaining a high level of professionalism.Open new deposit accounts, issue debit cards, assist with online banking setup, input loan applications, and assist with loan closings.Provide administrative support which may include travel arrangements, meeting coordination, phone coverage, email correspondence, typing, copying, filing, sorting and distributing mail and ordering supplies.May manage schedules, tickler files, and expense reportsReport suspicious transactions or unusual occurrences to supervisor or BSA as appropriate.Conduct and document periodic risk reviews and run reports as neededPerform all work in compliance with established regulations, policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and instructions. Maintain customer confidence and protect bank operations by keeping information private and confidential.Participate in ongoing skill, compliance, product, market, risk management and security training as required for the position and apply knowledge in performance of daily tasks.Other duties as assigned* *

   

  Qualifications & Skills 

  High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 7 years' progressive banking experience, including consumer lending experience and commercial lending job knowledge, or equivalent combination or education and experience. A degree in finance, accounting or similar field is preferred.  

  Possess a mastery of bank products, services and systems.
