Role Summary/Purpose:

As a member of the Growth Governance Excellence organization, the AVP, Change Management and Governance leader is responsible for executing various quality and oversight routines to strengthen the first line of defense risk management framework as it applies to Synchrony-wide material, non-NPI related change management routines. Reporting to the VP, Change Management and Governance, this position will support various change management governance and oversight activities. This individual must be a strong communicator, work effectively in a matrixed environment, be able to think both strategically and tactically, and embrace a culture of change and innovation.

Essential Responsibilities:

Reporting to the VP, Change Management Governance Leader, this role has primary responsibility to ensure all compliance, process, and regulatory expectations are fulfilled with supporting evidence for areas of responsibility

This role will perform, document, and retain evidence of key change management governance activities in support of a Synchrony wide view of business-initiated changes.

Perform periodic change management governance reporting, update key change management inventories, maintain a central repository of applicable change governance evidence and documentation including but not limited to intake forms, presentation materials, change communications, KPI reporting.

Support compliance execution of the change management process in accordance with applicable policies and procedures

Support L3 Process owner activities including periodic refresh of the RAQ, PRC and PRCSA documents, issue resolution and remediation related to change management, when necessary

Develop and perform controls to ensure complete and accurate change management governance

Support monitoring and surveillance of post implementation controls around approved non-NPI changes, as well as timely risk and issue identification and escalation

Support change communication and training of key stakeholders, including the design and delivery of training for Operations contact center agents

Work with key cross-functional stakeholders across the lines of defense to ensure compliant, timely, and effective change management governance routines

Ensure significant risks are promptly escalated to the appropriate level through the prescribed protocol.

Introduce into the business effective tools, systems, and controls for analyzing and monitoring applicable regulatory risks.

Identify opportunities to streamline change management governance activities and make overall processes as efficient as possible.

As team roles and responsibilities expand and change over time, incorporate new quality, oversight, or governance routines and activities into ongoing operating rhythm.

Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in relevant field or in lieu of Bachelor's Degree, a high school diploma, 8+ years of risk management, compliance, and/or direct process management experience in the financial services industry.

5+ years of professional work experience, preferably in a financial services institution, to include:

Experience in areas including governance, quality, oversight, risk, audit

Experience with analytical, organizational, and decision-making responsibilities

Understanding of marketing business systems and processes

Cross functional team leadership experience

Experience engaging with cross-functional stakeholders

Desired Characteristics:

Demonstrated experience working across a matrixed organization.

Work experience that clearly demonstrates strong initiative and ability to succeed.

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and policies.

3+ years of experience presenting ideas and recommendations to senior level audiences.

Experience operating in a heavily regulated-compliance environment.

Excellent team and leadership skills.

Proven ability to work cross functionally.

Facilitation and problem solving.

Project Management and process improvement experience.

Effective communication skills.

Team player in fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Goal oriented, self-motivated.

Grade/Level: 11

The salary range for this position is 90,000.00 - 155,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

You must be 18 years or older

You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
