GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Are you looking for an opportunity to work in an amazing location, interact with people and be a part of a great team that is passionate about the outdoors? If so, join Wyoming State Parks for a summer of adventure and teamwork in beautiful Sink Canyon State Park! Sinks Canyon is located just outside of Lander, WY, and is home to unique geological features, abundant wildlife, and world-class rock climbing. The park is currently seeking enthusiastic seasonal staff to fill positions in maintenance, visitor services, and interpretation. Some positions are a combination of roles - see Essential Functions for specific job titles and duties. Summer positions typically run from mid-May through mid-September with hours varying from 16-35 hrs per week. Limited housing may be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.
Seasonal Maintenance Worker:
Provide excellent internal and external customer service to staff and park guests
Conduct routine campground checks
Clean and service restrooms, buildings, and grounds
Remove trash and recycling
Perform routine building, grounds, and landscape maintenance
Perform minor carpentry repairs and painting
Assist staff in construction, installation, maintenance, and renovation projects
Operate and/or drive a variety of vehicles including light and heavy equipment
Operate various maintenance equipment, such as mowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, and other equipment required for daily operations
Utilize various hand and power tools
Ensure proper use of Personal Protection Equipment and follow handling and safety procedures related to cleaning chemicals and fuel products that are encountered in daily operations
May be required to assist with the feeding and care of live exhibit animals, including reptiles and small mammals
Seasonal Visitor Services Associate - Visitor Center:
Provide excellent internal and external customer service to staff and park guests
Greet guests, answer visitor questions, and provide pertinent information about the site and surrounding area
Engage with visitors through interpretive techniques to provide education and site orientation
Handle monetary transactions, including gift shop sales and site fee collection
Reconcile the cash register after each shift
Maintain a visually pleasing gift shop area, restock the gift shop shelves, and track inventory
Answer a multi-line telephone system, transfer calls to appropriate personnel
Assist with general administrative duties, reports, and data entry
Perform opening and closing duties, as well as cleaning and maintenance as needed
Provide janitorial services in the building
Assist with special projects and events as needed
May be required to assist with the feeding and care of live exhibit animals, including reptiles and small mammals
Seasonal Interpreter/Maintenance Worker:
Provide excellent internal and external customer service to staff and park guests
Greet guests, answer visitor questions, and provide pertinent information about the site and surrounding area
Engage with visitors through interpretive techniques to provide education and site orientation
Develop and present interpretive programs, guided hikes, and hands-on activities to guests of all ages
Assist with the development of non-personal interpretive content including social media and interpretive graphics
Assist with the development and implementation of special events
Staff the visitor center as needed
Provide janitorial services in the visitor center and campgrounds
Assist with special projects and events as needed
Assist with general administrative duties, reports, and data entry
May be required to assist with the feeding and care of live exhibit animals, including reptiles and small mammals
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
For all seasonal positions, preference will be given to applicants who have e xcellent communication skills for working with staff and visitors from around the world and e xcellent customer service skills with staff and visitors.
**Must have a valid driver's license.
**Must be at least 18 years of age.
KNOWLEDGE:
Ability to be flexible with work assignments and assigned duties
Willingness to work on a variety of different tasks every day
Ability to perform routine and potentially mundane tasks
Experience in money handling and retail sales
Experience in basic construction
Experience in the use of basic power and hand tools
Detail-oriented, accurate, and thorough in completing assignments/tasks.
Willingness to work on a variety of assignments every day.
Basic safety awareness of equipment use.

Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
