Job Description
Job Purpose
Provide strong technical expertise for the Sustainability program for US Logistics, including direct support for the US Logistics net zero carbon plan, sustainability initiatives, and environmental data tracking and reporting and with an initial primary focus on collecting and preparing the data required for our carbon footprint calculations and GRESB reporting. May also provide support to the solar and advanced metering programs, as well coordinating with global ESG leads on sustainability efforts.
Applicants should have the ability to drive and develop sustainability processes, including collecting, automating, and managing data where the collection processes are not already automated. This individual must have a good understanding of operational and technical issues to support communication with various departments, property management teams and tenants.
Key Job Functions
Collecting and compiling ESG/utility/emissions data from various sources, including accounting systems, project files, invoices, utility companies, Energy Star, internet searches and direct communication with tenants.
Reporting on data from greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions Scope 1, 2 and 3
Analyzing data using statistical and data visualization tools to identify trends, patterns, anomalies and opportunities for improvement.
Developing reports and presentations to communicate findings to the Global Head of HSE, for communication to stakeholders, including senior management, sustainability teams, and external partners.
Working with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to reduce environmental impact.
Conducting research on best practices and emerging trends in sustainability and data management and identifying opportunities to apply these practices within the organization.
Collaborating with information technology (IT) teams and/or consultants to potentially develop and implement a data management system that supports sustainability tracking, reporting and analysis.
Managing sustainability consultants, databases, and tracking systems to ensure accuracy and completeness of data (i.e. Energy Star Portfolio Manager, Resource Advisor and/or Canopy)
Working with marketing to develop materials to communicate with property managers, brokers, and tenants on the importance of ESG, our targets, and how they can work with us on these matters.
Seek opportunities to optimize data collection into our systems (i.e. advanced metering, meter reading, etc.) and support the installation of advanced meters.
Participating in the development and implementation of new sustainability initiatives, projects and programs.
Maintaining awareness of regulatory and industry requirements related to sustainability reporting and ensuring compliance with these requirements.
Develop knowledge documents and business cases for new technologies and opportunities as they relate to energy and sustainability, and general operations as required (smart buildings, prop tech, HVAC/BAS enhancements, indoor air quality, EH&S, etc.)
Participate in both internal and external committees and related working groups
Identify new opportunities including procurement, local energy rebates and programs, renewable power, carbon reduction strategies, offsets, etc.
Support the BREEAM / LEED certification programs, installation of advanced metering and various solar installation initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience
Technical:
Experience working with Energy Star required
Advanced level skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Advanced level skills in SharePoint, Energy Management Software and databases / data management
Working knowledge of building systems including energy (HVAC, lighting, and building automation) systems, energy efficiency/modeling/performance, water (plumbing fixtures)., waste management systems (recycling and other forms of diversion), indoor environmental quality and related green building and sustainable design topics
Technical knowledge of Greenhouse Gas GHG inventory quantification, verification, offsets, and management is a plus
Knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks (e.g. GRESB, TCFD, GRI, UNSDG, etc.) is a plus
Knowledge of renewable energy, installation of solar, community solar, and advanced metering is a plus
Education & Experience:
University Degree or College Diploma in environmental science, sustainability, or engineering
LEED Green Associate / Accredited Professional certification (EB:OM preferred) and/or WELL certification, and/or is encouraged
Proven experience in a sustainability analyst or similar role.
Excellent English oral, written and grammar skills. Spanish oral, written and grammar skills a plus.
