  Your role:

  The Associate Production Scientist at Bellefonte is focused on manufacturing or evaluating products according to established protocols, provides technical support to others and performs operations in support of the group and department. Additional responsibilities include: 

  Manufacture or evaluate products according to established protocolsProvide technical support to others and perform operations in support of the group and departmentComplete a variety of lab and/or pilot scale-up synthesis processes in support of the development of processes used in the manufacture of new/existing productsTake lead in identifying and implementing process improvement opportunitiesResolve any unsafe conditionsAssists in training and orientation of new manufacturing processes and training of new production staffPerform and interpret analytical evaluations of products and intermediatesSupply information based on experience and knowledgeSafely perform operations to meet quality expectationsPerform routine assays, processes and/or unit operationsContribute to support functions of the lab (e.g., maintain equipment, prepare reagents, restock lab supplies, waste disposal)Communicate the status of operations and bring deviations to the attention of supervisorEnsure all applicable logbooks have been filled out completelyParticipate in quality auditsResponsible for the completion of all lab processes involved in the preparation of products and raw materialsFollows written instructions via MPS/SOP/ISO guidelinesMonitors process, identifies opportunities for process improvement, and designs/conducts simple experiments to increase yield, improve product quality, or develop new productsSet up lab and/or pilot processes according to technical specifications provided by the Production SupervisorMaintains QC experimental records including raw data, spreadsheets, worksheets, reportsRecommends modifications to processes to new product teamsOperate/maintain all necessary lab equipmentResponsible for preventative maintenancePhysical Attributes:

   

  Working with highly potent / hazardous materials and chemicals safely using proper PPELifting and moving up to 50 pounds with the assistance of equipment or teammatesVision within normal limitsAbility to operate tools, balances, pumps, ovens, and labelling equipmentVision within normal limitsWork between various work stations within the labWho you are:

  Minimum Qualifications:

   

   

  Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other Life Science disciplinePreferred Qualifications:

   

   

  3 + years of experience in an industrial setting.Basic knowledge of chemistry, chromatography theory, equipment, and apparatus.Ability to use judgment under minimum supervision and directionDemonstrated technical leadershipStrong communication and computer skillsKnowledge of ISO Quality standards.Mechanical and technical aptitudeExperience using a data management systemAbility to write clearly and legibly and use basic math principles of calculation of ratios and percentages.Completion of college level math, chemistry, or statisticsIndependent lab researchSafe chemical handling methods```{=html}
