Stratasys Direct Manufacturing is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for our Eden Prairie, MN facility.
In this role you will provide technical expertise in manufacturing processes, advanced materials and applications experience specifically in the FDM and PolyJet technologies. You will get to consult with the project engineering team, sales and customers regarding our manufacturing capabilities and gap analyses. This role would have you assessing risk and providing solutions on technical challenges from our customers. You would develop, evaluate and improve the manufacturing method and work flow. This would allow you to interface with multiple departments across the organization and provide data driven analysis on challenging manufacturing issues.
What you will be doing:
Perform blueprint/drawing/contract review to allow proper planning and inspection including risk mitigation
Write and maintain Work instructions, BOMs, process specifications and reports
Design tooling and fixtures and provide written instructions and training on their use
Write complex production work orders and help resolve bottlenecks in production
Provide subject matter expertise within critical areas of the manufacturing process
Implement various reporting tools and/or techniques
Facilitate/empower response to data findings with strong presentation skills
Continuous process improvement; LEAN objectives
Efficiency metrics derived from analyzing process variables
Troubleshooting real world manufacturing process errors
Able to characterize new materials and processes
Understand their advantages/disadvantages in various circumstances
Make recommendations to customers based on their application
As a part of Stratasys Direct Manufacturing, this position requires access to information and/or technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S. (or, green card holder), protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
Must have for this role:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Internship (s) or work experience utilizing CAD Software.or work equivalent
Nice to have:
Experience with PPAP packages, control plans and design of experiments
Experience with Aerospace and Medical Device specs and regulations
Proficient with Python programming language
Good understanding of Polymer Science
Travel required: 10%
