Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy is seeking a technical individual to be part of our Power Generation team. Associate PGD Engineer shall be responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the large scale universal solar facilities inside the state of Florida. This position will report to the Solar & Storage Panhandle FL Engineering Leader, under the Power Generation Team.
This individual is responsible as the site safety manager to ensure all personnel and equipment onsite are safe and that the site/s are in environmental compliance with all required regulatory permit requirements. Under limited guidance, the individual will perform a variety of routine tasks, which provide experience and familiarity with Engineering staff, methods, practices, and programs after which may independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures while using judgment when making adaptions and modifications. Engineers on the solar team can spend a significant amount of time in the field (outside) troubleshooting and repairing all aspects of our solar facilities . This individual will also be tasked with managing inventory for the region. At times, Associate PGD Engineer will be on-call and responsible for the FL Sites, coordinating with the Renewables Operation Control Center, OEM’s, Vendors and Contractors as required.
Engineer should be highly motivated with a strong bias for action and capable of working independently as well as part of a team. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering highly preferred.
