  Collin’s Aerospace is looking for an Associate Director, Operations to join our team on-site in Fairfield, CA. You will play a highly visible, key leadership role in site recovery and transformation to meet current and future customer demands. You will report to the Sr. Director of Operations for the site and partner with the Operations Site Lead for improvements using data and CORE to drive incremental improvements. The site has several major challenges. You will have the opportunity to design and implement strategic and tactical improvements in support of site recovery and transformation. You will drive change management, effectively communicate throughout the organization, and collaborate to achieve target performance while sharing best practices.

  This role is eligible for relocation.

  Primary Responsibilities

  Lead Fairfield Site recovery to customer demand and transformation.

  Design, implement, and lead a comprehensive recovery Macro Plan in partnership -- that drives site to full and sustainable recovery.

  Model and embody our Collins Leadership Behaviors and be a champion for our Operating Principles in everything they do.

  Full ownership of cadence reviews and communication pertaining to recovery plan.

  Partners with cross functional matrix organization with both direct and indirect interaction to deliver results.

  Understand constraints preventing recovery and identify solutions to break business bottleneck processes or shop bottleneck processes necessary to meet customer requirements.

  Use CORE Continuous Improvement processes to validate Current State and identify Future State Map and drive implementation.

  Define and monitor performance metrics and guide the organization towards improvement opportunities.

  Partner with IPT and extended IPT to communicate, stay aligned, and work through the matrix on recovery plans.

  Collaborate with internal stakeholders across all functions.

  Provide regular and ongoing feedback regarding improvement opportunities to Site Leadership

  Ensure effective Tiered Meeting and CORE Control Room processes at the site to highlight issues through the shop and escalation for outside support as needed.

  Includes activities that cannot be attributed to a defined Operations discipline.

  Other duties as assigned.

  Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  Typically requires University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience

  Minimum of 12 years proven Operations Management experience.

  7-10 years of Engineering and/or Operations experience

  7-10 years of Operations leadership experience involving strategic planning activities, managing diverse groups of highly skilled employees, and interfacing at all levels throughout the organization.

  Minimum of 3 years in a managerial position involving strategic planning activities, managing diverse groups of highly skilled employees, and interfacing at all levels throughout the organization.

  Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) access

  U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Master’s degree in engineering or business.

  Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) experience.

  Certified in Lean manufacturing or Six-Sigma with demonstrated ability to establish and mature a Continuous Improvement culture.

  Experience with single piece flow in a mixed model production environment.

  Demonstrated ability to successfully partner in a cross functional matrix organization.

  Individual who leads by example and has a Participative Management philosophy

  Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities with a results-oriented mindset

  Strong written and verbal communication skills across the organization at both the working and senior leadership levels.

  Ability to manage in partnership cross functionally rather than a direct reporting structure.

  The salary range for this role is 158,000 USD - 316,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
