  Associate Director of IT

  Located in Decatur, Georgia- Hybrid Schedule (non-negotiable)

  Robert Half is seeking a skilled and dedicated Associate Director of IT. Reporting directly to the COO, the Associate Director of IT will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the IT systems and infrastructure at the company. This position will manage the day-to-day operations of our technology resources, ensuring their reliability, security, and effectiveness in supporting our mission-driven initiatives.

  Requirements

  RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement an IT strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives;

  Manage all aspects of the organization's technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, servers, databases etc.;

  • Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer systems and software applications; • Ensure data security by implementing appropriate measures such as firewalls, antivirus software etc., while adhering to privacy regulations;

  • Collaborate with department heads to assess their technology needs; provide guidance on selecting appropriate solutions that enhance efficiency and productivity;

  • Manage vendor relationships for procurement of hardware/software; negotiate contracts ensuring cost[1]effectiveness without compromising quality or service levels;

  • Develop policies/procedures related to IT usage/operations; ensure compliance across the organization through training programs or other means;

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies/trends relevant to nonprofit organizations; recommend innovative solutions that can improve operational effectiveness or support new initiatives;

  • Utilize network-based tools to manage desktops centrally and ensure effective operations and cost control;

  • Manage team compliance with the company’s policies and procedures to meet organizational requirements and expectations;

  • Support meetings and events ensuring all A/V equipment and other technology is working properly prior to meeting;

  • Lead the Information Technology Governance Committee;

  • Evaluate and summarize departmental metrics to measure performance and forecast future needs;

  • Manage Desktop Support Operations and compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and provide reports to staff and the company’s leadership on SLA compliance performance metrics;

  • Implement on-call rotations to ensure 24 x 7 coverage and to evenly distribute on-call schedules among Desktop Support staff;

  • Perform other duties, as assigned or necessary, to achieve the Association’s goals and objectives.

  REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and six (6) years of information technology experience;

  • Experience in supervising staff;

  • Knowledge of Google Workspace applications and administration (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.); ZOOM, Microsoft Office Suite (365, 2016, 2010, etc.) is preferred;

  • Experience managing Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy, working with Microsoft Server 2008 and Microsoft Server 2012, OSX Server, and configuring and maintaining Windows and Macintosh operating systems on a Local Area Network (LAN);

  • Proven experience as an IT manager or similar role within a nonprofit setting is highly desirable but not mandatory;

  • Willingness to understand unique challenges faced by nonprofits in leveraging technology is essential;

  • Strong technical knowledge across various areas such as network administration/security protocols/systems analysis/database management etc., along with proficiency in relevant software applications/tools/platforms (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite);

  • Familiarity with cloud-based services/solutions (e.g., AWS/Azure) is advantageous but not mandatory;

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly;

  • Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with staff at all levels, including non-technical individuals;
