The Associate Director of Annual Giving works closely with the Director of Annual Giving to develop and implement fundraising projects and foster philanthropic giving with internal and external constituencies. The Associate Director will also engage in the identification and cultivation of alumni, parents, and friends of Stetson for the express purpose of moving prospects along the relationship continuum. In collaboration with unit colleagues and campus stakeholders, the Associate Director will develop and oversee strategies for increasing gift participation, donor retention, re-acquisition, and increasing overall giving among priority audiences such as alumni, parents, faculty and staff, and friends of Stetson University.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identifies and cultivate Stetson Fund prospects through personal visits, email, or telephone calls resulting in 10-12 contacts a month, soliciting leadership annual gifts
Collaborates and coordinates with Development and Alumni Engagement colleagues, colleges, university departments, and volunteers to maximize the impact of philanthropic efforts and educational opportunities for donors.
Assists the Director of Annual Giving with content writing, creating, and editing direct marketing solicitation, stewardship and communication strategies using industry best practices for integrated marketing, personal cultivation and solicitation, direct mail, phone calls, special events and meetings, newsletters, email, video, web, and social media channels.
Assists in the management of all activities and programs (mail, email, text, social media, crowdfunding) that will achieve participation and fundraising goals while achieving these goals on schedule and within an approved budget.
Collaborates with the Alumni Engagement team in social media strategy, email outreach calendaring, and outreach that celebrates and cultivates alumni donors and alumni giving campaigns.
Attends unit and university-wide engagement events to support unit and university objectives.
Works with the Assistant Director in a continuous and systematic review, analyzing data on all Annual Fund activities to increase performance and efficiencies.
Along with the Annual Giving team, develops strategic plans to advance the university’s fundraising efforts including Reunion Giving and Stetson’s annual Giving Challenge.
Attends University events, both on and off campus, with the strategic intent of interacting in purposeful ways with select constituents. This includes attending alumni events and reviewing attendee lists through a fundraising lens to cultivate philanthropic relationships.
Performs other site and position-specific functions as assigned.
Required Skills
Strong organizational and written/oral communication skills.
Ability to conceive, initiate, and execute multiple complex projects under minimal supervision.
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a cross-section of university constituents and stakeholders, including alumni, friends, faculty, staff, and university executives.

Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one year’s experience in fundraising or marketing.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
Knowledge of fundraising principles, methods, and standards.
Positive, creative, and energetic personality.
Experience with The Raiser’s Edge or another donor-based database.
