This position is based in our Princeton NJ home office location. We have two openings.
The Position
The Associate Director of Marketing Ecosystem Enablement, Novo Nordisk Inc. (NNI) Employee Experience will proactively lead/execute the development of medium to high complexity learning curriculum within assigned areas of responsibility. The role will be integral to the expansion of offerings for a newly established Marketing Academy, which supports the learning and development needs of individuals across the Marketing Ecosystem within the US and Canada. The Marketing Ecosystem is comprised of individuals aligned around the function of marketing, regardless of their reporting structure, and includes Brand Marketing, Future Business Strategy, and associated members within the Commercial Operations, MAPA and Insights & Analytics teams. Under the leadership of the Director of Marketing Ecoystem Enablement, this role will use a performance consulting approach with client groups to assess business gaps and propose solutions within. Will be responsible to proactively help build and evolve prioritized capabilities in pursuit of measurable business outcomes. The focus in this role will include full enablement and installation of our commercial framework by continuing work that enhances the people capabilities, ways of working, leadership alignment and cross-functional connections that are required for a functional, future fit, modern marketing organization. Learning solution development should be innovative, while meeting the needs of the modern professional and learner. There will be a high initial focus on facilitation of live and virtual instructor-led sessions.
Relationships
Reports to the Director, Marketing Ecosystem Enablement, NNI Employee Experience. Closely collaborates with all levels of management within the business units, when sponsoring or serving as SMEs. Primary interactions are with members of the Marketing Ecosystem, comprised of the individuals aligned around the function of marketing regardless of their reporting structure. This primarily includes Brand Marketing, Commercial Operations, Insights & Analytics, and Future Business Strategy, but may expand to other home office personnel. External relationships may include interaction with various outside partners to support course creation and/or facilitation. Ownership of initiatives requires matrix team leadership to completion of desired project outcome (project core team, business sponsor, training sponsor, stakeholders, client group(s) etc.…).
Essential Functions
With alignment from the Director of Marketing Ecosystem Enablement, develop and deliver new learning experiences for the Marketing Ecosystem, across a variety of levels and formats, consistent with the defined strategy. Evolve current content to meet the needs of new audiences as needed
Lead live and virtual instructor-led sessions as needed
Lead communication and change management plans related to learning experiences
Effectively establish, deepen and sustain key relationships with business leaders and senior level managers. Through performance consulting, identify performance needs and gaps, define desired performance outcomes and leverage best-in-class methodologies to deliver on the desired outcomes
Partner with external partners, internal teams and subject matter experts to lead the development of new learning experiences
Ensure that the development of all learning experiences are aligned to the business and have a defined measurement plan
Liaise & partner with Employee Experience team and global colleagues to identify and leverage synergies, prioritize learning opportunities and plan content delivery calendars
Demonstrate outstanding project management, effectively prioritize, and make strategic trade-off decisions as necessary throughout the year to ensure the delivery of high quality content within defined budgets
Manage online learning communities and foster ongoing engagement, serve as the liaison for feedback and community relations
Oversee sustainment activities for learning experiences and content – ensure that experience and content are managed, stored, and refreshed properly
Follow & champion established department SOPs. Oversee logistics support
Physical Requirements
20-30% overnight travel required.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree preferred
Pharmaceutical industry experience required
10+ years total relevant experience required
Experience across all aspects of traditional marketing (positioning, targeting, insight generation and application, media fundamentals, execution, etc.) strongly preferred
Training/workshop facilitation experience strongly preferred
Experience with leading curriculum design and development strongly preferred
Executive presence – strong ability to communicate ideas and engage with large diverse groups as well as one-on-one, including with members of the senior leadership team. Ability to distill complex ideas and concepts and deliver them in a clear manner to audiences at a variety of levels
Outstanding ability to influence without authority, drive alignment, and co-create with a variety of business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders
Strategic planning experience within marketing or training preferred
Excellent organizational and written communication skills
Growth mindset, solution-oriented, agility in a changing environment
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
