Floyd College of Medicine at Washington State University is seeking an Associate Dean for Curriculum (ADC) who is a physician or academic scholar with demonstrated success in the administration of medical education curricula. The position based in Spokane, WA will collaborate with the Undergraduate Medical Education Committee (UMEC) to ensure medical education is mapped to desired competencies and objectives while meeting accreditation standards. They provide leadership and direction in creating communication mechanisms, evaluation procedures and accountability structures to assure educational excellence. They work with the Vice Dean for Educational Affairs, the Associate Dean for Assessment and Evaluation, the Regional Campus Deans, and faculty to assure the spectrum of medical education is administered and assessed consistently across all campus locations in accordance with best practices.The Associate Dean will hold a career track role in the Department of Medical Education and Clinical Sciences with an academic rank commensurate with qualifications.Duties and Responsibilities:• Responsibly administers the medical education curriculum.• Creates communication mechanisms, designs accountability structures, and empowers faculty and staff to assure educational excellence.• Collaborates with the Undergraduate Medical Education Committee (UMEC) , curriculum data management unit, assessment unit, and evaluation unit to ensure the curriculum meets all accreditation standards and to ensure curriculum competencies are mapped to objectives.• Leads efforts to assure continuous quality improvement of curriculum administration across all campus locations.• Works with key stakeholders to develop learning objectives and strategies for accomplishing those objectives in a comparable manner across all sites, as well as helping monitor the accomplishment of those objectives.• In partnership with the Associate Dean for Assessment and Evaluation and the Faculty Accreditation Lead for Accreditation to:• Develops, implements, and administers processes related to assurance of student attainment of program competencies and entrustable professional activities (EPAs).• Selects and/or Develop assessment methodologies and tools to measure achievement of milestones and competencies in conjunction with appropriate stakeholders to ensure assessments align with curricular content.• Develops evaluation methods to measure program outcomes and ensure continuous quality improvement in conjunction with appropriate stakeholders.• Oversees Partners with key stakeholders in the design, development and continued improvement of an integrated learning management system.• Seeks out or develops innovative approaches to curriculum design and delivery.• Collaborates with other members of the Dean's Leadership Team.• Models professionalism and leadership.• Fosters diversity and inclusion and supports inter-professionalism.• Promotes a positive work/learning environment in all academic and clinical settings.• Contributes to building strong relationships with COM stakeholders and constituents.• Supports philanthropic development activities on behalf of the COM as directed by the Dean.• Stays abreast of medical education trends and best practices.• Frequently travels to the COM's campus locations throughout
