Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Inc. seeks a Senior Associate in New York, New York

　　Conduct due diligence on investment opportunities in the private equity secondary market. Create financial analyses in support of the investment process, including financial statement analysis, leveraged buyout (LBO) models, credit analysis, valuation analysis, returns and sensitivity analysis. Conduct market and industry research on target opportunities. Conduct due diligence, alignment and track record analysis of general partners in transactions. Participate in due diligence meetings with general partners and management teams. Prepare investment memoranda for the investment committee. Prepare marketing and client presentation materials. Prepare term sheets and letters of intent. Coordinate the legal and transaction closing process for transactions. Work on the investment sourcing and recruiting processes. Monitor existing investments in the firm’s secondary portfolios.

　　Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $143,000 and $155,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.

　　Requires a Bachelor’s in Management, Finance, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years as a Research Analyst, Banking Analyst or a related role. Requires three (3) years of experience with: Utilizing valuation techniques, including discounted cash flow analysis, company benchmarking, and sum-of-parts analysis; Conducting financial analysis; and Conducting market and industry research. Requires one (1) year of experience with: Working within buyside private equity investments, including secondary markets; Writing, preparing, and presenting investment ideas and recommendations; and Applying valuation techniques to investments.
