Roles and Responsibilities:- Manages/leads staff assigned to projects in the design and construction of new transportation infrastructure.- Directs consultants and manages design and construction services contracts for assigned capital program project(s).- Formulates technical solutions to satisfy project(s) objectives with new or established engineering applications.- Establishes and maintains project schedules for assigned capital program project(s).- Provides inter-departmental coordination to ensure that assigned capital program project(s) is being built in compliance with the affected user-department specifications while maintaining the overall project objectives.- Provides inter-agency coordination to ensure that assigned capital program project(s) are designed and constructed in compliance with the guidelines and requirements of federal, state, regional and municipal regulatory agencies.- Establishes and maintains project budgets.- Prepares status reports, updates and presentations.Education, Experience, and Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Planning or related field- Seven years (7) of increasingly responsible experience in planning, design or construction of public transportation capital projects or railroad improvement projects.- A master’s degree preferred in Engineering, Planning, or related field can substitute for two (2) years of experience.
