The University of Iowa, School of Social Work seeks dynamic candidates for a tenure-track assistant professor position (9-month academic year appointment) beginning on August 21, 2024. Candidates should demonstrate potential for a strong research agenda in behavioral health.

The School of Social Work offers programs at the BA, MSW, and PhD levels, with distance education MSW programs around the state of Iowa (Des Moines, Sioux City and a hybrid/online program). We have implemented a new MSW curriculum and are growing our programs at all levels. The School is home to the National Resource Center on Family Centered Practice and the Iowa Consortium for Substance Use Research and Evaluation. Current areas of faculty scholarship include aging; child, family, neighborhood, and community well-being; immigration; mental and behavioral health; family violence; and culturally competence practice. Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work with faculty and students to implement the mission of the University of Iowa and the School of Social Work through the following:
Sustain an active program of scholarship as evidenced by peer reviewed publications and conference presentationsPursue external funding to support a focused program of research in behavioral healthTeach and mentor students at the undergraduate and graduate levelsProvide service in support of the School's and University's missionThe University of Iowa is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
