  Assistant Director of Development - Athletics

  Position Description:

  Performs the administrative duties of planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating special development efforts. Responsibilities may include: cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individual, foundation, and corporate support for the TTU/System; adherence to the prospect management system; and plans, coordinates and evaluates development goals. Work is performed under general supervision with broad latitude for initiative.

  Major/Essential Functions:

  Meet goals for key metrics, including asks and gifts secured, substantial contacts, and visits as established by the Sr. Associate Athletics Director.

  Manage a Major Gift/Victory Circle portfolio of 100-150 active prospects.

  Responsible for 150 face-to-face visits each year.

  Generate new Victory Circle members through Red Raider Club Excellence Fund gifts.

  Oversight of several donor groups within designated sports units

  Communicate with other TTU Advancement and TTUS Institutional Advancement colleagues & departments on Athletics donors/prospects.

  Provide constant communication with the Athletics Development team to effectively engage, cultivate, and steward donors.

  Comply with all NCAA, Big 12, and Texas Tech University rules, regulations, and policies.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  One or more years of professional fundraising experience involving managing a major gift portfolio or equivalent professional experience in sales.

  Previous experience working in intercollegiate or professional athletics.

  Successful experience in making cold calls as well as developing cultivation and solicitation strategies.

  Knowledge of fundraising, including annual giving, gift planning, corporate and foundation relations, campaign management, and strategic planning.

  Excellent interpersonal, verbal, writing, and presentation skills.

  Exceptional initiative and the ability to work with limited direct supervision.

  Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team.

  Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.

  Ability and willingness to travel frequently and participate in occasional evening and weekend activities.

  Valid driver's license and two-year driving record acceptable to the university.

  Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
