Assists the Director of Clinical Services in planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of the Homes nursing services by performing the following duties.
Recommends and assists with the development of organizational structure and standards of performance.Responsible for ensuring Quality Assurance for all resident documentation.Establishes and runs regularly-scheduled quality assurance meetings to ensure consistent standards of care.Plans, organizes, develops, implement, and interprets the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.Supervises nursing staff to ensure continual upgrade and improvement in the nursing care of the residents.Participates in the development and implementation of resident care policies and brings resident care problems requiring changes in policy to the attention of the professional policy advisory groups.Assures that a nursing care plan is established for each patient and that this plan is reviewed and modified as needed.Initiates studies to evaluate effectiveness of nursing services in relation to objectives and costs.Available to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary. Scheduled hours may change to meet facility needs.Effectively communicates to appropriate personnel regarding emergency situations.Assists with the scheduling of daily assignments of duties for nursing staff to assure 24 hour coverage.Audits CNAs and nursing staff to ensure quality patient care.Oversees clinical care of RCH residents. Respond to resident clinical issues and follows through with MD and family.Develops and implements electronic medical records.Supplements RN Staffing on Skilled Care neighborhoods as needed.Qualifications:
Previous supervisory experience as an ADNS or RN SupervisorCurrent Connecticut Registered Nurse License2 - 3 years experience in a nursing home environment.Sensitivity to the needs of the elderly in a healthcare setting.Good interpersonal and communication skills.Must have patience, tact in handling difficult residents and staff.Must be comfortable to be responsible for department in the absence of the Director of Clinical Services.Detail orientedQuick to advise Vice President of Mary Wade Healthcare and/or Director of Clinical Services as neededDemonstrate a strong work ethicFoster strong working relationships will all staffCommunicate clearly with resident, family and staff
