Job Description:
Associate Director works independently under the general direction of the Senior Director – IT Business Operations Services and supports the management and administration of IT business processes and financial activities associated with technology management and serves OIT directly but works across the enterprise for technology business advisement. Position is responsible for assisting the Senior Director – OIT Business Operations and Services, with all aspects of the financial/budgeting process as it relates to Central IT and consulting across multiple divisions which requires considerable interaction with diverse groups where professionalism, diplomacy, and the ability to work under pressure is mandatory. This position also manages technology contracts and vendor relationships as well as bench-mark against peer institutions. Position may supervise projects or other work performed by information technology staff or other groups. This position also supervises one FTE and directs the work of business operations within OIT .
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field.
Three plus years relevant professional experience.
Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
10 plus years progressively responsible management experience in higher education budgeting and/or finance and 5 years of Texas state agency contracting experience.
Knowledge of Texas rules and regulations related to state contracts and the ability to work with frequent changes in policies and procedures, sometimes under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong knowledge of IT contracts, vendor management, and software licensing principles in addition to business management and business analytics.
Ability to provide strategic guidance and counsel to IT and campus leadership to develop and deliver effective and efficient technology solutions for a collaborative digital footprint.
Strong knowledge of financial compliance with spending guidelines & cost principles including state regulations.
Significant experience working in a flexible customer-service oriented environment requiring the balancing of longer-term projects and ongoing responsibilities with completion of priority request for information and analysis in short timeframes.
Strong analytical, research, and technical skills with the ability to gather, evaluate, and develop well-reasoned conclusions and recommendations.
