This is a strategic role within the organization that is expected to influence business decisions made in the organization. The ideal candidate will enjoy being hands-on, working strategically with operational leadership, and implementing processes and procedures.In this role, the Assistant Controller will oversee various accounting functions of the multi-site operations, including accounts payable support, customer billing, cost & revenue accounting, payroll, and associated analysis and reporting. The assistant controller will evaluate and make improvements to our accounting processes while ensuring that practices comply with organization accounting policies and applicable laws and regulations.Responsibilities
Performs complex accounting activities to record, analyze and monitor financial informationAssists the Controller in management of accounting personnelResponsible for monthly review and approval of reconciliation of all balance sheet accountsPerforms and monitors timely completion of month-end close processes and reportingAssists operations with capex requests and completes capital spending analysisProvides direction to different accounting functional areas including but not limited to: accounts receivable, accounts payable, credit & collections, and payrollEstablishes, implements, and maintains internal controlsAssists the Controller and General Manager with preparation of financial outlooks, pricing and profitability analyses, budgets, forecasts and market development projectsIdentifies gaps in processes and proactively initiates solutions with the collaboration of the Commercial, Operations and Finance teamSupports corporate in implementation of SAP and other business transformation effortsWork closely with business stakeholders across the business to ensure business needs are addressed and metKey Role Specific Knowledge, Skills & Experiences

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or complementary work experience
5+ years of previous accounting and analysis experience is required
2+ years of previous experience in a supervisor position
Strong emphasis should be put on knowledge of management accounting, cost and inventory accounting with a major company or division of a large corporation
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and IFRS Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting
