Description We are in search of a diligent Assistant Controller to join our team in the Wood Furniture Manufacturing industry. Based in MENDON, Michigan, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of financial activities including customer credit application processing, maintaining financial records, and resolving customer inquiries.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately process customer credit applications in a timely manner
• Maintain and update customer credit records, ensuring all information is current and precise
• Support the preparation and analysis of daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports
• Assist in the coordination of Accounts Payable processing activities
• Handle Accounts Receivable duties including the entry of Purchase Orders and the support recovery of past due accounts
• Manage intercompany activities including netting payables and pricing
• Prepare manual invoices as required
• Conduct audits of Bills of Materials and Routings to ensure product costs are accurate
• Assist in the preparation of various reports to support daily meetings
• Support all internal and external audit procedures
• Adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Policies and resolve questions of GAAP and internal controls with management
• Assist in the completion of special projects as assigned.
Skills required include proficiency in Accounting Software Systems, Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Auditing, Billing Functions, Manufacturing Cost Accounting, Month End Close, and Financial Reporting. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role or relevant industry.
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems.
• Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of Accounting Functions.
• Familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Experience in Auditing is essential.
• Ability to perform Billing Functions effectively.
• Knowledge of Manufacturing Cost Accounting in the Wood Furniture Manufacturing industry.
• Experience in conducting Month End Close procedures.
• Proficiency in preparing and presenting Financial Reporting.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
