CBS 17, the CBS Affiliate in Raleigh NC, is looking for a Monday-Friday Assignment Editor/Digital Content Producer to gather and publish news content in a highly competitive market. The position demands a smart, motivated candidate to gather and coordinate newsgathering efforts on all platforms. Must have an “always publishing” mentality and be ready to win Breaking News and Weather. Meet daily with news managers, digital, and broadcast producers to determine news coverage. Assist in short-term and long-term story planning. Other responsibilities will include assigning field crews, tuning in live shots, and posting text and video to our websites and social media platforms. Ability to excel in 24/7 news environment and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Three years prior newsroom experience required. 　　Tracks stories from all sources including government agencies, wire services and community groups

　　Dispatches photographers, reporters and other personnel to cover stories

　　Coordinates logistics for news personnel

　　Participates in daily story meetings and supplies a comprehensive list of all possible news stories and works with the News Managers to develop plans for broadcast and digital

　　Assists in development, planning and follow-up of all news stories

　　Edits video clips for digital as assigned

　　Gathers and writes stories for TV, the web and social

　　Reviews copy and will correct errors in content, grammar, and punctuation, following prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelines

　　Ensures that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality

　　Uses Social Media and Website to build and reinforce brand recognition and drive viewers to television

　　Performs other duties as assigned

　　Requirements & Skills:

　　Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience

　　Fluency in English

　　Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

　　Minimum three years’ newsroom experience at a network affiliate

　　Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

　　Proficiency in Associated Press style, Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Basic HTML preferred

　　Flexibility to work any shift
