Position Summary
A career in Asset Protection will provide the opportunity to be responsible for all distribution pipeline operations fieldwork. This typically includes testing, repairing and maintaining infrastructure. Additionally, this includes responding to emergency leaks. This must involve working cross functionally with other departments, such as dispatch, and gas supply/control.
Essential Functions:
Plan, schedule, and supervise the daily activities of Asset Supervisors.
Oversee compliance activities associated with below ground leak repairs and associated inspections on below ground infrastructure.
Focuses on timely emergency response to natural gas leaks.
Plans and directs incident management activities during emergencies and ensures timely and accurate response to state and federal regulatory agencies .
Responsible for promoting and maintaining a high level of quality customer service and satisfaction in all areas of service work.
Ensures Supervisors coordinate training needs of Operations Technicians with training programs established by management.
Review recommendations from Supervisors on new parts/tools and specialized parts/tools needed in storerooms and service vehicles and makes purchasing decisions.
Provide the guidance , encouragement, and correction as necessary related to performance management & employee development.
Responsible for KPI metric tracking and review for work planning and resource allocation
Assist in labor relations matters and promote harmonious management, employee, and union relations.
Promote safety awareness and accident prevention at all times , ensuring all employees follow safety rules and regulations set forth by management.
Investigate accidents and ensures reports on employee injuries, property damage, automotive accidents, and public liability are prepared and submitted in accordance with Company procedures.
Prepare and manage department budget.
Consistent with all positions in this classification, additional projects, task and/or duties beyond what is outlined here may be assigned as required .
Qualifications
Required Skills :
Prior managerial experience, preferably in a union environment.
Working knowledge of natural gas code requirements, regulatory compliance policies.
Proficiency with business computer applications (Word, Excel, etc.), specifically as it relates to data analytics, reporting building and review, and determining appropriate next steps.
Required Background :
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or;
Master’s degree with 4 years of relevant experience.
In addition, a minimum of 1 year of leadership experience is required .
Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree .
Preferred Skills :
Experience managing O&M and Capital budgets
Familiarity with bargaining agreements and the grievance process
