　　CatalogingAssistanttoaddourcollectionofhistoricphotographstoanewcontentmanagement

　　systemandcreateandedittheassociatedmetadata.Thispositionreportstothe

　　Archivist/Librarian.

　　RESPONSIBILITIES

　　?Uploadourcollectionof9,000digitizedhistoricphotographstoanewcontentmanagement

　　systemcalledArchivEra(library.lowell.edu)

　　?Createandeditthedescriptivemetadata(title,date,subjects,etc.)forthephotographs

　　QUALIFICATIONSANDEXPECTATIONS

　　? Knowledgeofmetadatacreationanduseforarchivalmaterials

　　?Strongorganizationalskills,especiallytotrackindividualfilesandtheirstatus

　　? Strongtimemanagementskillstoadheretoaschedule

　　?Abilitytoaccuratelymanagefilesandtasksthroughverbalandwritteninstructions

　　?Strongverbalcommunicationskillstoaskquestionsandtoseeksupportfromcolleaguesora

　　EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

　　Thepreferredcandidatewillbeanundergraduateorgraduatestudentinarchivalstudies,library

　　andinformationscience,history,humanities,museumstudies,orarelateddiscipline.

　　Thispositionrequireslongperiodsofstanding,walking,bending,stretching,reaching,climbing,

　　andlifting(under40lbs).Movingthroughoutthecampus,onsometimesuneventerrain.
