The opportunity

We are seeking a qualified Actuary with relevant local experience to enhance our local valuation process and controls and to support statutory valuation and capital requirements for business growth.
Key responsibilities
Coordinate and manage Appointed Actuary-related deliverables to regulators and MLS Board of Directors. This includes but is not limited to local Actuarial Investigation Report, MAS Stress Test, local capital management and planning, local statutory reporting (RBC2) and par fund management.
Enhance process, controls and governance in local capital, and statutory valuation to ensure standards of practice are followed
Manage production of RBC2 reserves and capital for statutory reporting. Provide production support for annual local GAAP reporting (FRS 117, ie Singapore version of IFRS 17), as well as quarterly interim reports
Drive adherence to statutory regulations, and corporate compliance and risk management policies.
Drive technical discussion with various stakeholders including internal/external auditors and senior management. Act as subject matter expert on local capital and valuation and able to advise management of industry development on RBC2 and FRS 117.
Support Appointed Actuary in new product and sales campaign assessment and approval, including but not limited to review of pricing assumptions, reserving/solvency bases, modelling requirements etc. Provide advice to management on statutory assumptions and reserving considerations for new and inforce products, campaigns and business committees including but not limited to Investment Committee, ALCO, Product Steering Committee and Reinsurance Steering Committee. Ensure statutory reserves appropriately reflect business initiatives and management decisions.
Share ad-hoc projects with other team leads. Manage and complete ad-hoc projects.
Coach, develop and provide leadership to team members.
Act as deputy to the Appointed Actuary.

What we are looking for
Qualified Actuary from a recognized Actuarial examination body.
12 years or above of Actuarial working experience, with experience in pricing, valuation and capital management a key advantage.
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
Ability to manage and drive project completion within timeline.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with other departments and Group / Regional office.
Strong leadership and experience in developing junior staff members.
Working knowledge of AXIS will be an advantage.
Knowledge of Singapore capital and accounting regime will be helpful
