　　SMX is seeking an Application System Administrator . The successful candidate will play a crucial role in documenting, installing and managing innovative application solutions to meet the evolving needs of our organization and its clients. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and effective communication skills.

　　Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

　　Management of a VDI environment utilizing VMware Horizon for both Windows and Linux solutions.

　　Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand application requirements and translate them into effective application solutions.

　　Create/edit technical documentation for developed solutions.

　　Contribute to the installation, configuration and management of web-based application solutions on both Linux and Windows servers or workstations.

　　Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues, working closely with support teams and third-party vendors when necessary.

　　Collaborate with software developers, system architects, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with overall system architecture and strategic goals.

　　Participate in cross-functional team meetings to gather insights, share progress, and contribute to continuous improvement.

　　Conduct thorough testing of application solutions to identify and address any issues before deployment.

　　Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.

　　Required Skills:

　　Available to work onsite at Patuxent River NAS at least two days a week.

　　The selected applicant must have DoD 8570/5239 IAT Level II Certification (Security + CE equivalent, or greater), and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in RDT&E environments.

　　An active DoD Secret clearance is required to start. Applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Ability to be upgraded to Top Secret clearance required.

　　Efficiency with VDI and VMware Horizon.

　　Experience with Citrix ADCs, Citrix Storefront, XLM brokers and Citrix VDAs.

　　Desired Skills:

　　Familiarity with communicating technical concepts with stakeholders.

　　Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

　　Organizational and communication skills.

　　Testing and troubleshooting of application solutions, system architecture.

　　Web application support, hosting and administration.
