Your Role and Responsibilities

The media analytics team is highly skilled and dedicated cross functional team with the mission to improve the performance of IBM's paid media investment. As a Paid Media Data Analyst, you will work cross functionally with marketing managers, media specialists, and analysts across the globe to provide actionable analytics insights into one or more paid media channels, including paid social, paid search, video, programmatic media and more. You will be responsible for providing data driven recommendations and helping set the strategy to achieve the growth KPIs for your channel(s) and geography.
You will get exposure to all aspects of paid media, from audience segmentation and strategy, to channel, tactic, and ad format optimization, to messaging analysis, to media budget allocation and metric forecasting, to capturing demand through our web presence.
Your responsibilities will include, but aren't limited to:
Perform quantitative analyses to evaluate the impact of paid media activities (channels, tactics, audiences, messaging, ad formats) on demand generation KPIs
Create regular data-driven recommendations that empower paid media agency to efficiently optimize performance within a specific media channel
Measure performance and establish new measurement systems to detect performance shifts and increase marketing effectiveness
Develop and present data-driven optimization recommendations via dashboards, reports, and ad hoc analyses
Communicate insights to team members, other marketing groups, external agencies, and IBM leadership

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
2+ years relevant work experience, including experience in a data-driven technology business or company with a sophisticated data stack
Technically skilled to work with complex datasets and relational databases using SQL/Python/R or other query tools to process and analyze data
Experience with Cognos / Tableau / Power BI or other data visualization tools to facilitate flexible analysis of business performance and associated root causes
Deep critical thinking skills and curiosity to pursue open-ended problems via data
Strong presentation skills and ability to effectively communicate complicated analyses to non-technical employees and leadership
Business acumen with the ability to develop data-driven business recommendations
Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines
