Position Description:
To support a growing team, LeoStella requires a creative, and energetic AI&T engineer to create and execute test plans for flight hardware that drives mission execution and success. We need an exceptional individual contributor who enjoys working very closely with software and hardware in an agile and dynamic environment where schedules are critical.
As an assembly, integration, and test engineer, you will be responsible for leading the planning, development, and implementation of the assembly, integration and test of satellites and their subsystems. You will be responsible for automating test procedures and supporting troubleshooting efforts during production. You will work with both internal and external customers to ensure tests are thorough and meet all requirements. You’ll work closely with aerospace system and hardware engineers to help specify requirements and provide feedback to design engineers for test/design for manufacturing (DFT/DFM).
To be successful in this position, you will need to be passionate about delivering exceptional products that meet or exceed requirements and enable new capabilities for satellite performance. You will also need to enjoy working in a collaborative environment and work daily with engineers from multiple disciplines – systems, electrical, etc. You must be eager to receive and give peer feedback that enables our high performing team to be greater than the sum of its parts.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead the planning, development, and implementation of the subsystem and satellite-level functional tests and verifications
Conception, definition, and documentation of test procedures, test plans and test strategies in alignment with engineering disciplines and project management.
Creation and execution of tests from analysis, requirements, and existing procedures.
Develop and execute integration/test procedures to assemble and verify satellite design/performance
Support troubleshooting efforts during test execution
Design and develop and test flight software code and related test scripts (python)
Develop process improvement tools and methods to help streamline test and integration operations.
Required Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Person. Due to government regulation of the space industry, this requirement cannot be waived.
Bachelor of Science or greater in Electrical, Computer, or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
2-5 years of experience in a production environment
Comfortable with Python and Bash
Experience with debugging and testing methodologies
Excellent interpersonal skills and belief in a strong collaborative approach within a multi-disciplinary team
Unwavering attention to detail and ability to succeed in a hands-on environment with valuable hardware assets
Ability to travel domestically and internationally to support launch campaigns
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in high reliability, safety critical, or regulated environments
Experience with software scheduling and tasking tools (e.g. Jira)
Experience with integrating open source software with internal development
Capability to use electrical measurement equipment i.e.: function generators, oscilloscopes
Familiarity with software version control management tools such as Git
Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation range is $100-130K + 10% target bonus
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case by case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is one part of your total rewards package - you may also be eligible for up to 10% potential bonuses. Additional employee benefits are detailed below as well.
