Position Overview:
Sutter Medical Foundation (SMF) is a not-for-profit organization supporting the quality medical services provided by Sutter Medical Group and Sutter North Medical Group and a clinically integrated network (Sutter Physicians Alliance, also known as SPA), which includes Sutter Independent Physicians.
Serving the counties of Amador, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, Solano, Sutter, Yolo and Yuba, physicians are dedicated to delivering exceptional care and services, listening to patients’ needs and ensuring that patients play an important role in their health care.
SMF is also committed to delivering quality and convenient care to patients through numerous outpatient services including ambulatory surgery centers, diagnostic imaging, urgent care, home health, laboratories and physical therapy.
Position is for a Neuropsychologist serving adult patients and best fit would be a generalist. Referrals are primarily from Neurology department with suspected organic etiologies but include some psychiatric rule outs. Referrals include a wide range of possible etiologies (e.g. neurodegenerative disorders, TBI/concussion, strokes, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular disorders, depression, etc.) Most work is onsite, but some telework is possible.
Will provide services that identify, quantify, and describe changes in cognition and behavior associated with central nervous system dysfunction and mental health disorders. Function as a member of a multidisciplinary team and provide assessments and treatment plans for patients in a hospital/outpatient clinic setting. Responsibilities include performing neuropsychological evaluations and communication of results to patients, family, and patient’s physicians.

EDUCATION:
Doctorate PhD or PsyD in psychology with specialization in clinical neuropsychology from an APA-accredited institution.TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
5 years recent relevant experience.CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

CRITICAL AND ANALYTICAL THINKING:
Provide highly skilled and professional patient care through comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations and psychotherapy.
Assess patients, especially adult and geriatric patients, through medical chart review, interview of patients and informants, test administration, scoring, interpretation, report writing, feedback, and collaboration with treating physicians.
Integrate supplemental medical data (Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), labs) with neuropsychological assessment results for accurate differential diagnosis.
Provide consultation to multidisciplinary treatment teams regarding patient-specific cognitive and psychiatric diagnostic questions.
Provide psychotherapy to individuals and groups, including family or caregiver supports when appropriate.
COMMUNICATION:
Explains findings to patients and families in an approachable manner and encourages questions.
Interacts with team members collaboratively and efficiently.
Ensures reports are forwarded to referring physicians and other identified care providers to maximize coordination of care.
QUALITY:
Completes chart notes and reports in a timely manner.
Responds within the same workday to calls from patients, families or colleagues.
Attends staff meetings and in-services and adds to the department's body of knowledge and enhancement of service delivery.
LEADERSHIP AND PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
Maintains board certification status to ensure clinical competence and expertise in clinical neuropsychology.
Ensures ongoing staff training for improved performances and expanded duties.
Provides regular supervisory and collegial support.
Provides outreach, education, and community consultation per training, interest, and department needs.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of human development, neuropsychological treatment, and treatment modalities
Advanced knowledge of a wide variety of neuropsychological assessment measures.
Knowledge of and adherence to American Psychological Association (APA) ethical standards.
Knowledge of cognitive disorders listed in the current International Classification of Diseases (ICD) as well as Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
Familiarity and skill with a broad selection of psychometric tests and testing activities including administering, scoring, interpreting and reports results, as relevant to population.
Knowledge of the impact of cultural and linguistic diversity on test validity and ability to adjust assessment approach depending on patient background and presenting complaint.
Ability to work flexibly and effectively with a wide range of patients to accommodate physical disabilities, while ensuing valid test administration and interpretation.
Excellent report writing skills with ability to communicate results succinctly.
Comfort with use of an electronic health record (Epic)
Ability to work cooperatively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team Leadership and management skills.
Pre-doctoral internship/training with experience in Neuropsychology.
Postdoctoral training in neuropsychology.
Support treatment teams research activities as needed.

Pay Range is $57.22 to $85.83 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
