The Administrative Project Manager reports directly to, and works collaboratively with, the Senior Advisor to the President for Native American Affairs to advance strategic projects, directives and initiatives that strengthen collaborative relationships between the University and Tribal Nations, in alignment with the MPact 2025 systemwide strategic plan. In order to effectively perform this role, the Administrative Project Manager develops subject matter expertise in the areas of responsibility and maintains an open line of communication and partnership with the Senior Advisor, Tribal Leaders and their staff, and key stakeholders across the system and the state. This is a 75% to 100%, 12-month, civil service appointment, reporting to the Senior Advisor to the President for Native American Affairs. Major responsibilities include: 75%: Overseeing and facilitating projects, initiatives and directives assigned by the Senior Advisor, ensuring alignment with presidential priorities, open communication and timely completion Conducting research, gathering data, and preparing summaries for the Senior Advisor in support of projects, initiatives and directives Ensuring ongoing and effective communications between the Senior Advisor and key partners and stakeholders, which may include drafting e-mails, memos, charge letters, executive summaries and policy documents 25%: Functioning as a liaison with internal and external partners and constituencies on behalf of the Senior Advisor Attending meetings with the Senior Advisor upon request, ensuring timely follow-up as needed Representing the Senior Advisor at meetings and events internally and externally Managing administrative duties relating to budget, policy and procedures Assuming special projects and other duties as assigned SALARY RANGE: $58,240 to $62,000 (based on 100% time position) WORK MODE: Mostly remote but occasionally available to be on campus for events and meetings. Qualifications Required Qualifications: BA/BS with at least 4 years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal eight years Outstanding organizational and managerial skills Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills Able to balance competing demands, priorities, and needs of multiple stakeholders Track record of promoting and advancing equity, diversity and inclusion Effectively manages multiple tasks concurrently and efficiently, while meeting deadlines Ability to work collaboratively with multiple, diverse constituencies Effective in developing strong relationships and effective partnerships Demonstrates exceptional judgment, discretion, confidentiality, integrity and flexibility Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree Familiarity with University of Minnesota and its policies and procedures About the Department The Office of Native American Affairs facilitates communication and consultation with Tribal Nations and works to improve the University of Minnesota systemwide to better serve Native communities and learners.
