  Job ID12275LocationCase Main CampusFull/Part TimeFull-TimeRegular/TemporaryRegularJob DescriptionPOSITION OBJECTIVEThe NPDPSC Administrative Lead is responsible for managing the surveillance and research operations activities of the National Prion Disease Pathology Surveillance Center (NPDPSC). These activities include business planning, financial management and operations, grant submissions and IRB compliance, and human resources management and operations. The administrative manager will also have the responsibility for organizing complex tasks and to provide leadership, advice and guidance regarding financial and administrative policies and procedures. The NPDPSC is a national center operating under the sponsorship and with the support of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The NPDPSC provides diagnostic, research, and tissue banking services for prion diseases, operating with an annual budget of approximately $8 million. In addition, the NPDPSC administrative manager serves as a resource for staff, the department of Pathology, families of case study subjects, and external entities, including the CDC and CJD Foundation regarding the NPDPSC's operations.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSProvide administrative leadership for all aspects of the multifaceted day-to-day operations of the NPDPSC including IRB and HIPAA compliance. Responsible for the oversight of the NPDPSC's national autopsy program. This includes working directly with the CDC, meeting data requirements, providing leadership and direction for the Autopsy team, and managing constant 24/7 communication and accessibility for autopsy program needs. Oversee and operationalize research projects, managing the overall coordination and research at the NPDPSC and how research will be executed by each admin and implemented through workflow. Oversee iLab activities, manage invoices and ensure they are paid and finalized and that research requests are completed. (20%)Oversee of all financial activities of the NPDPSC in conjunction with the Department Grant manager and Director. Review analysis of staffing expenses, non-salary expense projections, and annual funding to ensure appropriate spending. Work with the NPDPSC Director and Department Director to develop a 3 to 5 year plan. Oversee and provide leadership to the Finance Analyst for forecasting, projections, budgets, the monitoring of Quadax and the billing revenue. (20%)Oversee the human resources activities for NPDPSC administrative staff. This includes the resolution of operational issues, design, maintenance and implementation of any changes, establishing standards and procedures adhering to university policies. Structure, prepare job descriptions and manage the hiring process, supervision and annual reviews for admin staff. Hire, train and supervise activities of NPDPSC admin staff providing policy direction and performance/merit reviews. Assure the resolution of conflicts and coordinate the performance appraisal process. (20%)Manage outreach efforts to professional organizations (e.g., AANP and AAN), state Health Departments, funeral homes, and autopsy networks. in collaboration with the Autopsy team and Clinical Manager to coordinate objectives and efforts with the entire NPDPSC admin team (15%)Serve as the primary liaison to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (the funding entity for NPDPSC), CJD Foundation (an advocacy group focusing on prion disease), funeral homes and autopsy vendors to coordinate objectives and efforts with the entire NPDPSC admin team (15%)Coordinate the annual NPDPSC grant application process; prepare documents for the NPDPSC director's approval and ensure timely submission. This will be done in conjunction with the Department of Pathology Administration team.
