Minimum Qualifications Current New York State employee with one year or more of qualifying permanent service in a position allocated to a Grade 6 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1* of the Civil Service Law.*Candidates must demonstrate adequate keyboarding skills by prior service in a keyboarding title OR successful completion of a Keyboard Specialist performance test.Successful completion of a two-year traineeship leads to appointment as an Administrative Assistant 1, SG-11.
Duties Description • Type correspondence and prepare for distribution.• Type burial reimbursements.• Scan and input documents into case management systems.• Assist with supply orders and inventory.• Be familiar with cemetery eligibility requirements to answer generalized questions.• Maintain correspondence files, administrative and client files; keep necessary pending systems to monitor and track paper flow.• Make sure requisitions, timesheets and vouchers are submitted on time.• Maintain a neat and professional office with adequate inventory of supplies, forms, postage and brochures.• Perform other duties and special projects as required.
Additional Comments NOTE:• Travel may be required (approximately 25%), including during evening and weekends, depending on mission and assignment. • Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver’s License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle is required, or otherwise demonstrate the capacity to meet the transportation needs of the job.
