　　The English Program at Mercy University seeks part-time adjunct instructors to teach English composition to undergraduate students. Commitment to inclusive, student-centered teaching is required.

　　Candidates may also be asked to provide assistance with program assessment and to attend select programmatic or professional development meetings.

　　Successful candidates may be offered the opportunity to teach up to 3 section(s) per semester.

　　Location: Courses may be offered at the Dobbs Ferry, Manhattan, or Bronx campuses. Daytime availability preferred.

　　Please attach current CV with list of references and a brief cover letter that outlines your qualifications, your experience teaching college-level courses, and your particular interest in Mercy University and our mission.

　　Qualifications

　　Minimum qualifications include:

　　Bachelor's degree required

　　Masters or Doctorate from accredited institution in an appropriate academic discipline such as English Literature, Composition and Rhetoric, English Education, or a closely related field.

　　Demonstrated experience successfully teaching English at the college level.

　　Physical/Other Requirements:

　　Must be able to push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs.

　　Must be able to meet all general health requirements for the position as per university policies.

　　Compensation is based on a semester and calculated on a semi-monthly pay cycle.

　　Mercy University promotes a community campus environment. As a result, employment is limited to the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. Applicants outside of those states or the USA will be required to relocate. Relocation assistance may be provided for eligible moves.
