　　Position:      Activity Aide- Part Time

　　Applicants are invited to apply to a temporary Casual position as Activity Aide at Craiglee Nursing Home in Scarborough. The successful candidate will report to the Resident Program Manager and will have the following responsibilities and qualifications:

　　Duties and Responsibilities

　　Plan, implement and evaluate both individual and group recreation programs based on assessed needs and as assigned by the Program Manager.

　　Set up and clean activity area and transport residents to and from programs.  Monitor the behaviours and condition of residents during programs, and report any significant changes to the Program Manager and Nursing staff as appropriate.

　　Participate in development and revision of programs under the guidance of the Program Manager.

　　Develop and maintain resident records/documentation according to the department policy.

　　Work cooperatively with other departments to meet resident needs.

　　Qualifications

　　Proof of successful completion of an approved Activation/Gerontology Degree.

　　A minimum of 1 years working experience in Activation an asset. .

　　Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent documentation skills.

　　Knowledge and demonstrated experience in care planning and resident assessments.

　　Ability to work independently and ability to manage time effectively.

　　Ability to plan, implement, evaluate new ideas, resident programs and volunteer initiatives.

　　Knowledge and/or experience in working with geriatric population especially those with cognitive impairments.
