Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in the Transport industry. The position is based in MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio. In this role, you will be handling accounts payable functions, managing relationships with vendors, and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries, and reconciling books of accounts.

Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable using accounting software and other programs

• Handle accounts payable for various entities and vendors

• Analyze workflow processes and implement improvements

• Establish and maintain relationships with both new and existing vendors

• Ensure all bills are paid accurately and on time in line with departmental procedures

• Process due invoices for payments in a timely manner

• Compare purchase orders, prices, terms of payment, and other charges

• Perform accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries, and reconciling books of accounts

• Reconcile vendor statements, identifying any errors in posting or omissions and applying appropriate accounting standards

• Resolve a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, communicating the resolution of discrepancies to the appropriate persons

• Maintain and distribute accounting documents, records, and reports. Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role

• Proficiency in accounting software systems

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems

• Ability to perform various accounting functions

• Extensive knowledge in Accounts Payable (AP)

• Understanding of Accrual Accounting principles

• Experience in Auditing procedures

• Proficient in Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions

• Capability to code accounts accurately

• Industry experience in transport is preferred
