Description We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Houston, Texas. This role revolves around the efficient and accurate processing of accounts payable operations within our organization. The role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to handle account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and financial report preparation.

Responsibilities

• Handle the precise and timely processing of payments including mortgages, utilities, and invoices before their due dates.

• Prepare monthly financial reports for clients, lenders, and internal use.

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly accounting processes.

• Ensure accurate maintenance of customer credit records and process credit applications.

• Perform monthly reconciliation of all property operation accounts.

• Conduct regular maintenance and reconciliations of the General Ledger.

• Handle the processing of checks, wires, and ACH.

• Maintain accurate journal entries with a basic understanding of US GAAP and Form 1099.

• Ensure adherence to accounting principles during Year-End Closings.

• Oversee the Accounts Payable (AP) process and ensure all transactions are conducted in a timely manner. Requirements

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

• Experience with accounting software is preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is desirable

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions

• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly

• Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Willingness to continuously improve and learn new skills.
