Description We are offering a role for a meticulous Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in MIDDLEBORO, Massachusetts, United States. This role is crucial in our manufacturing industry, where you will be responsible for processing, maintaining, and updating vendor information in our AP system, resolving vendor inquiries, and preparing month-end accrual for AP vouchers. This role will be stationed on-site and presents an opportunity for short-term contract employment.
Responsibilities:
• Process non-inventory vendor invoices, check requests, and employee expense reports with accuracy and efficiency.
• Sort and disburse incoming mail, monitor AP mailbox.
• Maintain and update vendor information in the AP system, ensuring all information is up-to-date.
• Resolve vendor inquiries, including researching requests for payments, pay dates, and check numbers.
• Process daily and weekly check runs, prepare proposals for check/ACH payments based on payment terms.
• Create ACH files, upload to the bank and send remittances to vendors.
• Prepare month-end accrual for AP vouchers not entered in the previous period.
• Maintain vendor W9 information and assist in annual preparation of 1099 statements.
• Utilize various accounting software systems such as Great Plains, IBM AS/400, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, and Microsoft Excel.
• Perform accounting functions, including accounts payable and check processing.
• Conduct data entry tasks and resolve any discrepancies. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Knowledge of Great Plains (GPAC) software
• Familiarity with IBM AS/400
• Experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Understanding of Accounting Functions
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
• Ability to handle Check Processing tasks
• Proficiency in Data Entry
• Ability to identify and resolve Discrepancies
