About Accounts Payable Specialist

Description

Are you an experienced Accounts Payable professional looking for an exciting opportunity with a reputable property management group? We are seeking a dedicated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract-to-hire basis in Wilmington, DE. This is a fantastic chance to contribute to a dynamic organization and grow your career in accounting and finance.

Responsibilities:

Process a volume of 200 payables a week (with about 75% being utilities)

Process check/ACH disbursements

Maintain a Utility tracker to track utility payments

Scan rent checks for deposits

Maintain electronic filing systems

Obtain W9 and COI for new vendors

Void checks when appropriate

Track Real Estate tax payments

Month-end close assistance

Ensure funds are available in bank accounts prior to making payments/sending checks.

Ensure that as many vendors are paid via ACH/online as possible versus checks to avoid check fraud.

Qualifications:

2+ years of accounts payable experience.

Proficient in accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience in property management or real estate industry (a plus!).

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar role

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and Accounts Payable (AP) functions

• Experience in Check Processing

• Efficient in Data Entry tasks

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
