We aim to hire and develop those who will raise the bar over the course of their career at Amazon (and not just in their first position).Key job responsibilitiesThe Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the preparation, review, and filing of 10-Q, 8-K, 10-K, and other filings with the SEC, which includes preparation and review of US GAAP and SEC disclosure checklists and monitoring progress against reporting calendar milestones. The Accounting Manager will also assist in responding to requests for financial information from other external entities. This role will require significant collaboration with internal stakeholders within and outside the accounting organization, including finance, legal, tax, and statutory accounting teams. The Accounting Manager is expected to identify and implement process improvement and automation opportunities, and to drive impactful global projects. Financial reporting research and position paper writing are required.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Seattle, WA, USA- 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field- CPA- Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency- Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification- Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients- Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusionsOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $81,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
