Description

　　Robert Half is looking for a candidate to support a department as an Accounting Clerk on a part-time basis. The Accounting Clerk responsibilities will include answering the phones, data entry, and assisting with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This is a contract position based in the Birmingham, Alabama area that could turn into a permanent part-time position. The Accounting Clerk will be expected to work 20 hours a week and come into their Birmingham, AL office 3-4 days a week.

　　Responsibilities:

　　Classify documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes

　　Mend discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required

　　Support Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing

　　Prepare statements and reports that require utilization of a number of sources

　　Contribute to Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance

　　Answering the phones

　　Requirements

　　Ability to multitask effectively

　　Expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR)

　　Proven knowledge of Answering Inbound Calls

　　Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel

　　Invoicing experience

　　Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

　　Microsoft Outlook experience preferred

　　Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required

　　Prior knowledge in Spreadsheet and QuickBooks
