Job Title: Part-Time Cashier

Location: North Charleston, SC

Hours: 10 hours per week

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and trustworthy individual to join a local government entity on a part-time basis as a Cashier. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately counting cash and keeping records. This is a part-time role requiring 10 hours per week commitment, ideally suited for someone detail-oriented, organized, and highly precise in their work.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately and efficiently count large sums of cash.

Maintain and balance cash drawer on a daily basis.

Document, package, and secure counted cash.

Prepare and deliver detailed reports of cash amounts, discrepancies observed, and any notable issues.

Exercise a high level of discretion and confidentiality due to the sensitive nature of the work.

Comply with all applicable rules and regulations concerning the handling of government funds.

Provide support to other accounting activities as required or assigned.

Undertake regular audit checks to ensure accurate records are kept.

Requirements

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in a cash-handling role is highly desirable.

Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail.

Trustworthy and reliable with a strong sense of integrity.

Excellent organizational skills.

Clear understanding of handling sensitive information.

Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires manually counting cash for extended periods and may require lifting or moving heavy boxes of cash or coins.
